Walking out of the hospital when you have just been told you have scoliosis is indescribable. In a way I felt a sense of relief as I had been suffering from almost constant pain for over a decade, but at the same time apprehensive for what a future with this condition would hold.

Every doctor I saw had no idea what was wrong with me. They often fobbed me off with some pain killers or told me to do more exercise. I was even told by one doctor that I had just pulled a muscle and that the pain would disappear in a few days! As you would expect with scoliosis, the pain didn’t just disappear and if anything it was getting progressively worse.

Eventually I decided to go privately and it was only then that I was diagnosed with scoliosis. This meant that I could finally move on with my life. Or did it!?

I had always thought that once a problem was diagnosed it could be dealt with. Apparently it wasn’t so simple with scoliosis. As my Cobb angle wasn’t severe enough for surgery there was nothing the health service could do for me!

I was so disheartened and dissatisfied with this advice that I decided to seek alternative treatments and see what I could do for my back. I looked for back specialists in the area and spent hundreds of pounds seeing a chiropractor. However, nothing worked. I was still in pain and my money was running out!

By this point I was desperate, my job was being affected and my social life was nonexistent. I was in so much pain I couldn’t stand for long periods of time and sitting at my desk was practically impossible.

One day at work when I had almost given up hope, a member of my team came over and gave me the telephone number for a clinic in the UK.

I didn’t think too much about it in the beginning as I had spent so much money on treatments that just hadn’t worked, I didn’t know if I could justify spending any more money.

A few weeks past and then one day I woke up in such extreme pain I couldn’t even push myself to get out of bed. I called my manager. He was very understanding, although I could tell his patience was wearing thin!

Laying back down on my bed, I remember thinking to myself what on earth am I going to do! No one will help me. The health service had washed their hands of me and I just didn’t know where to turn.

Just at that point I noticed the piece of scrap paper my friend had given me and decided to give them a call.

The lady I spoke to was very helpful and everything I was told about the muscles being imbalanced causing my pain, made so much sense! I had a look on the website and was astounded by the results I was seeing.

I made the decision to go to London for treatment.

The results I have achieved in just four weeks have changed my life forever! I was absolutely amazed to find that my pain was disappearing after just 3 days of exercises. I had seen specialist after specialist and doctor after doctor and not one person could tell me how I could decrease my pain. The therapists at the SOS clinic are so knowledgeable and talented I could not think of a better way of spending my money.

I have now returned to work and I am able to sit at a desk for 8 hours without having to get up once!

When you lose your social life, your confidence and you almost lose your job you start to realise how important your health really is. The only regret I have is not finding this clinic sooner.

No matter where in the world you live, we would be happy to welcome you to the Scoliosis SOS Clinic in London – contact us today to arrange an initial consultation via Skype or telephone call.
